What is a healing circle?
In healing circles, people come together to share, listen, and reflect, guided by a reliable framework and a consistent set of values. Circles hold space for connection, belonging, and community, and they welcome all.
The practice of healing circles facilitates authentic connection that directly impacts outcomes and improves the way we care for one another. And the simplicity and universality of circles make them uniquely positioned to support positive change.
The training journey
The Healing Circles Training Program is a comprehensive, two-step process designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to host healing circles effectively. The program begins with Healing Circles Fundamentals, which introduces the core principles, agreements, and essential practices that form the foundation of healing circles. Building on this foundation, the Healing Circles Practicum provides hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for participants to refine their facilitation skills in a supportive environment. Together, these two steps ensure that participants develop both the conceptual knowledge and practical competence necessary to create safe, meaningful, and transformative spaces for healing and connection. Completion of both courses is essential to becoming a skilled and confident circle host.
Healing Circles Global is not a classroom with teachers and students, experts and novices. It’s a learning community. The only requirements are to bring your soul, commitment, and creativity to the work.
The prerequisites? We all meet them, whether they’re easily accessible or hidden for the time being. They are the life experiences that make us uniquely human and uniquely capable of supporting one another.
Healing Circles Fundamentals
This course is the first step in your training journey and will provide you with a foundation of knowledge on which you can build healing circles practice.
This course is a hybrid format, combining self-study modules, written reflections, and live Zoom sessions. During the live sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in healing circles facilitated by experienced hosts, engage in circles led by your peers, and practice hosting your own circle. This hands-on experience will deepen your understanding of the process and equip you with insights along the way.
You'll learn a reliable framework grounded in core values of kindness, respect, and compassion. This framework fosters a safe and supportive space for sharing and connection, ensuring that everyone feels heard and respected.
The Healing Circles Fundamentals course will introduce you to the basic structure of the circle, key roles, and essential agreements. Upon successful completion, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to participate in healing circles and will be prepared for the next step: the Healing Circles Practicum.
The Healing Circles Fundamentals course is a required prerequisite for anyone wishing to become the host of a healing circle.

Healing circles validate the worth and sacredness of each individual through the simple act of listening generously with attentive silence and then receiving the same blessing in return. This is an expression of unconditional love, and I don't know if there's a more effective way of healing.
Healing Circles Practicum
This six-session program is designed to provide mentorship and support for those who seek to host healing circles. The practicum equips participants with the competence and confidence you need to facilitate meaningful and effective circle experiences.
Over the course of six sessions, you'll:
- Gain practical experience: Actively practice the roles of host and guardian within a safe and supportive environment.
- Enhance skills: Learn and apply the core agreements and circle fundamentals while exploring techniques for navigating challenges that may arise during healing circles.
- Build self-awareness: Develop a deeper understanding of your role within the circle process while achieving personal growth and emotional awareness.
- Address questions: Explore common and unique scenarios that hosts and guardians sometimes encounter, with ample time dedicated to answering your questions.
- Receive feedback and support: Benefit from constructive feedback, reflective discussions, and mentorship aimed at refining your facilitation techniques.
Each session is structured with generous time devoted to hands-on practice, reviewing principles of practice, receiving feedback, and engaging in collaborative learning. Fully committing to all six sessions, significantly enhances skill development and confidence.
By the end of the practicum, you'll strengthen your ability to hold healing circles and know how to address complex issues. You'll also have cultivated a supportive community of fellow practitioners with whom you can continue your journey of growth and connection.
